Sales promotion of DC regenerative power supplies and charge/discharge devices that incorporate our power electronics core technology, and sales of technical contracts

An exhibition for sales and support of power electronics-related products utilizing technical knowledge,

Planning and handling of exhibitions at academic conferences

■ Energy

Proposals and sales promotion activities for our power interchange systems and HW (housing complex solutions, multi-unit EV charging solutions, BEMS, industrial power storage solutions, etc.)

・Creating and explaining proposals and simulations (together with engineers)

・Sales strategy, exhibition planning

・Solution-based sales activities (subsidy support)

*What is a power interchange system?

The high-speed power control technology (Real-Time Stabilizer) developed for the DC regenerative power supply (biATLAS) that meets the needs of power electronics development requiring high accuracy and high-speed response (1/1000th of a second) is now being used for the high-speed power control controller.

Headspring has been dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies in the field of power electronics, making full use of next-generation power semiconductors (SiC, GaN). Utilizing these innovative technologies enables products to be miniaturized and perform better (high efficiency and bidirectional). To date, we have undertaken over 300 contract development projects, and in 2019, we introduced the notable bidirectional DC power supply "biATLAS" to the market. This product is widely used as development and production equipment for batteries and automotive parts, and has achieved industry-leading miniaturization and weight reduction through its unique design. Recently, we have commercialized a battery charging and discharging system, which is used in a variety of battery-related applications.

We are also focusing on expanding our automotive parts business overseas, and in July 2023 we launched a joint venture with the Indian Anand Group, ANEVOLVE HEADSPRING Pvt LTD. Through this joint venture, we plan to combine Japanese design technology with Indian production capabilities to maximize the synergy between the two countries.

Furthermore, to address modern challenges such as the shift to zero energy buildings and condominiums and the sharp increase in power consumption due to EV chargers, we have developed a solution to rapidly control the power of storage batteries. Based on these technologies, we are working to build next-generation power sharing systems both in Japan and overseas, which are expected to contribute to the efficient use of renewable energy and the stabilization of power demand in local communities.

Headspring was established to develop new energy products that solve global warming and energy problems with power electronics as its core technology. Since our founding in 2014, we have been using next-generation power semiconductors (SiC, GaN) to develop highly functional (highly efficient, bidirectional) power converters that are half the size of conventional converters. These power converters (inverters, converters) are always installed in things that run on electricity. Their range of application has expanded from industrial equipment, railways, and home appliances to renewable energy application equipment such as solar power generation, and more recently to storage systems and electric vehicles. In particular, storage systems and electric vehicles require small, highly functional power converters. When we first started, we commercialized a rapid prototyping tool (biRAPID) to simplify power electronics development, and in the eight years since our founding, we have efficiently undertaken more than 300 power electronics development projects. It is said that it takes more than three years to commercialize a power converter, but by utilizing this rapid prototyping tool (biRAPID) and a product (biBLOCK) that modularizes the inside of a power converter (S/W and H/W), we have created a solution that allows for "commercialization within one year without new development." We then used the modular converter (biBLOCK) to develop a DC regenerative power supply (biATLAS). In the three years from the launch of sales in 2019 to 2022, this DC regenerative power supply (biATLAS) has achieved sales of more than 200 units as development and production equipment for batteries and automotive parts. Currently, in order to address the major issue of "sudden power fluctuations" that occur when operating EV chargers in buildings and condominiums, we are developing a high-speed power control controller (biPYXIS) based on technology (Real-Time Stabilizer) that controls power in 1/1000 seconds, and are working on building a next-generation power interchange system. In order to enter the Indian market, we have also agreed to establish a joint venture with the ANAND Group, an Indian Tier 1 automotive manufacturer, in March 2023. This will allow us to build a foundation in the Indian EV market, which will be the largest market in the future, and also promote the spread of power interchange systems. We aim to be a solutions provider that can contribute to carbon neutrality and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing next-generation infrastructure.
